Funk in Album Draft

Funk is up-tempo, so it fills the Opener, and it spans every decade in the game. It sits well next to soul and disco for a tight-sounding record.

Which slots Funk fills

• The Opener (track 1): it counts as up-tempo.
• Lead Single (track 3) and The Closer (track 12) want your biggest songs, whatever the genre. 2 Funk songs qualify.
• Deep Cut (track 9) wants your smallest song. 29 Funk songs qualify.

Albums score higher when they use fewer genres and more decades, so Funk works best as one of two or three genres spread across several eras. How scoring works.
