Folk in Album Draft

Folk is soft and mostly modest on the charts. That makes it a natural Ballad and a reliable Deep Cut.

Which slots Folk fills

• The Ballad (track 6): it counts as a softer genre.
• Lead Single (track 3) and The Closer (track 12) want your biggest songs, whatever the genre. 2 Folk songs qualify.
• Deep Cut (track 9) wants your smallest song. 36 Folk songs qualify.

Albums score higher when they use fewer genres and more decades, so Folk works best as one of two or three genres spread across several eras. How scoring works.
