Album Draft
Build an album from sixty years of music. How many would top the chart?
Album Draft needs JavaScript to run. What it is, while you decide whether to enable it.
How it works
Each turn spins a decade and a genre (1970s Disco, 1990s Grime, 2010s Afrobeats) and offers you three real songs. You pick one. Do that twelve times and you have an album. Then it's simulated against the charts to see how many of your twelve tracks reach number one.
Where the skill is
Five of the twelve slots have a job: the opener, the lead single, the ballad, the deep cut and the closer. Filling them correctly is worth about one extra number one per album. Keeping the record cohesive and spanning several decades matters too. The trap is track nine. The deep cut rewards your smallest song, not your biggest.
A careless album averages about five number ones. A considered one averages about seven. Twelve from twelve happens roughly once in three hundred well-played games.
